Fiber optic splicing enclosure is a connection part that connects two or more optical cables together and has protective parts. It must be used in the construction of optical cable line engineering, and it is one of the very important equipment. The quality of the optical cable splice box directly affects the quality of the optical cable line and the service life of the optical cable line. At the same time, the fiber optic splicing enclosures must meet the following performance requirements:
1. Optical properties
The remaining optical fibers in the
fiber optic splicing enclosures are coiled in the optical fiber placement device. During the installation and use of the fiber optic splicing enclosures, the optical fiber joint should have no obvious additional attenuation.
2. Sealing performance
After the
fiber optic splicing enclosures are packaged according to the specified operating procedures, the inflation pressure in the fiber optic splicing enclosures is (100±5) kPa, and it should be immersed in a clean water container at room temperature for stable observation for 15 minutes, and no air bubbles should escape, or stable observation for 24 hours with a barometer The indication should be unchanged.
3. Resealability
The
fiber optic splicing enclosures shall be tested after repeated 3 times of packaging according to the specified operation procedure. The inflation pressure in the optical cable splice box is 100kPa±5kPa. No air bubbles should escape after 15 minutes of stable observation in a clean water container at room temperature, or no change in the barometer indication after 24 hours of stable observation.
4. Mechanical properties
After various tests, there should be no change in the box body of the fiber optic splicing enclosures and various parts in the boxes. If necessary, a light inspection or opening of the box body should be performed. The following tests should be filled with (60±5) kPa air pressure in the optical cable joint box, and the air pressure should not change after the test; immersed in a clean water container at room temperature for 15 minutes, there should be no bubbles escaping or stable observation of the barometer indicator for 24 hours There should be no change, and the shell and its components should be free from cracks, damage and significant deformation.
